In the night of Wednesday, May 28, 2025, a nightly incident escalated in a bar on Belfordstrasse in Freiburg. Shortly after 01:30 a.m., a 24-year-old, apparently strongly alcoholized, was sent from the restaurant after not responding to the staff attempts. When an ambulance was called, a handmade in which at least three people were injured occurred in front of the bar.

The Freiburg-Nord police station has now initiated criminal proceedings against the young man for assault on the emergency services and assault. The investigation is underway to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
