Raid on the A67: 30,000 euros discovered in the tractor -trailer!
In a dramatic operation at the Pfungstadt Ost tank and rest area on Autobahn 67, the authorities took a close look at 40 vehicles on Tuesday, May 27th! Under the intensive controls, the focus was on the correct waste transport in commercial freight transport. The commitment, which was supported by several organizations such as the Federal Office of Logistics and Mobility, the main customs office of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt regional council, was a complete success.
Particularly shocking: In a Turkish tractor, the inspectors discovered a plastic bag with a whopping 30,000 euros in cash! This allows the alarm bells to ring - customs determines due to suspicion of money laundering. But that wasn't all! An international waste transport had to be stopped because a whopping 22 tons of waste paper were not properly secured. Before the driver was able to continue his trip, urgently needed security measures were required. In addition, a serious security risk was discovered on two other trucks - their tires were left except for the carcass! Only after the tire change were they allowed to go back to the street. A clear indication that security and order in road traffic are top priority!
