on Friday evening, June 6, 2025, there was a spectacular traffic accident on the A7 at 9:20 p.m. on the A7. Between the tank and rest area Hildesheimer Börde West and the junction Derneburg, the front left tire of a car suddenly burst, controlled by a 56-year-old from the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district. The driver lost control of his vehicle team, which was skidding. Both the trailer and the car that was transported on the trailer overturned.

After the shocking incident, the driver and his 17-year-old passenger remained unharmed, but considerable damage to property occurred. The federal highway had to be fully closed during the accident recording and recovery measures, which led to considerable traffic disruptions in the area.
