A dramatic turn in the old town of Heidelberg on Thursday morning! A 69-year-old woman caused an accident when she confused the accelerator pedal with the brake while turning. At 11 a.m. she steered her Skoda in the “Neckarstaden” street towards Schlierbach when the mishap happened.

The woman turned right at the level of St. Vincentium Hospital and lost control. The Skoda whizzes off the road and crashed head -on against a tree! In addition, she ran over a traffic sign, which caused further damage. The airbags triggered the violent impact, but fortunately the driver was unharmed. The property damage is estimated at at least 5,000 euros. Despite the fright, everyone involved can breathe a sigh of relief!
