Savior in action: swimmer in the Rhine saved with impending danger!

On the evening of May 30, 2025, the Mainz fire brigade moved out with a massive use to save a swimmer from the dangerous Rhine. The man had deliberately jumped into a critical area, which promptly let the alarm bells ring. A total of 40 emergency services, supported by 7 vehicles and 3 boats, fought against the treacherous currents of the Rhine, while firefighters from the adjacent cities and several aid organizations also fought, including air rescue by helicopter.

The current of the Rhine is notorious - it can easily get away with experienced swimmers. Added to this is the dense shipping traffic, which often overlooks swimmers. The dangerous area in which the swimmer fell into the water is not only rich in invisible currents, but also dangerous by buildings such as bridge pillars and investors. The fire brigade appeals urgently: bathing or swimming in the Rhine is risky! Instead, citizens should stay at official bathing spots to avoid potential horror scenarios.
