Romanian driver in Zittau: weapon and no insurance cover!

In the afternoon of June 2, 2025, a Romanian driver was caught during a control of the common group of Oberlausitz at the Zittau - Sieniawka border crossing. His vehicle was neither approved nor insured, which immediately led to an initiated procedure. The controls took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. and also brought a dangerous find to light: Under the driver's seat, the officers discovered a forbidden telescopic cutting stick.

The state police have now taken over the investigation to clarify the violations of the weapons law and against the foreigners' insurance law. The incident shows how important such controls are at the border to ensure safety on the streets.
