In the early morning of May 4, 2025, there was a dramatic incident on the BAB 27 near Cuxhaven with a poultry transport. Police alarm was triggered when several reports were entered into the "Bütteler Holz" motorway car park. During the inspection, the officials discovered that the two -axis trailer on the right side was missing a complete twin wheel - the trailer threatened to grind on the road!

The 33-year-old driver, who had previously had a breakdown near Hanover with the living slaughter hens, continued the journey for supposed animal welfare reasons. Since a quick repair was not possible, the animals had to be reloaded. The parking lot was blocked for this and an administrative offense procedure was initiated against the driver. Fortunately, no violations of animal protection regulations were found.
