A shocking incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Freiburg Central Station: A 23-year-old Syrian is said to have attacked a 26-year-old traveler on the train and then verbally attacked on the platform. The situation escalated when he pushed the victim to the ground and gave him a strangle. Only the intervention of a passerby was able to prevent worse and dissuade the attacker from his victim.

After the suspect tried to flee, luckily he was captured by an employee of Deutsche Bahn until the Federal Police arrived. Now the federal police are investigating the man on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. The victim had to go for medical treatment.
