Shock at Aachen schools: Dozens of bomb threats alert the police

In the past few days, schools in the Aachen region have to deal with an alarming increase in bomb threats. Several incidents, both by phone and in writing, were reported, and other police authorities in the country report similar threats. The Aachen police are challenged and examines every single case thoroughly.

A particularly worrying incident occurred on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at a comprehensive school in downtown Aachen. Threats in the area, including Monschau and Herzogenrath, were also registered. Fortunately, all investigations have so far shown that none of the threats had to be taken seriously - a small relief in the middle of the intensive investigation that includes dozens of cases.
