Shock in Landsweiler speeches: Technical defect triggers house fire!

On the evening of May 25, 2025, a fire broke out in an apartment building on Illinger Strasse in Landsweiler-Reden. The Schiffweiler fire brigade was quickly on hand and started extinguishing work before the police arrived at 11:05 p.m. During the first investigations, it turned out that no open fire was visible.

The explosion that the fire triggered was noticed by the five residents present who immediately chose the emergency call and left the building independently. The accident was probably caused by a technical defect in the gas heating in the basement. Fortunately, the residents only suffered slight flue gas poisoning and were accommodated in an emergency accommodation. However, the entire building is no longer habitable.
