On Monday, June 2, a serious traffic accident occurred in the area of ​​B 70 / Metelener Straße in Wettringen around 10:00 a.m. A 71-year-old driver from Wettringen was waiting with his Toyota on the left turn to bend into Metelener Straße. Suddenly an 81-year-old woman from Enschede lost control of her Fiat Panda, drove over the restricted area and crashed into the man's waiting vehicle. The impact was violent and the Fiat then slipped into an adjacent trench.

The senior woman was trapped in her car and had to be freed by the fire brigade. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital with the slightly injured 71-year-old. The property damage incurred amounts to around 15,000 euros.
