On Sunday afternoon, a dramatic traffic accident occurred in the Sömmerda district: A 37-year-old lost control of his Mercedes on the district road between Guthmannshausen and Mannstedt around 1:20 p.m. For unknown reasons, the vehicle overturned, tore out a tree and finally came to lie on the side.

The driver was seriously injured in the terrible incident and had to be taken to the hospital immediately. The material damage is estimated at around 20,000 euros. The road was temporarily completely closed to secure the scene of the accident and carry out the evacuation work.
