Gaggenau-Bad Rotenfels, Deutschland - On Tuesday, the Offenburg police headquarters took part in the nationwide "Safe.Mobil.leben" campaign day, this time with the focus on the safety of children in road traffic. In 2024, 179 traffic accidents with children were already registered in Offenburg. The aim of the action day was to reduce the risk of accidents and preventive measures through strict controls and prevention measures and to strengthen the sense of responsibility of parents and road users.
Around 190 police officers carried out comprehensive traffic controls at 45 checkpoints in the region. Around 4,700 vehicles were checked between 7 a.m. and early in the evening, which led to 484 traffic violations found, including 278 speed violations and 17 cases of unauthorized mobile use at the wheel. In addition, 18 prevention events were offered that met with great interest and enabled many discussions between emergency services, children and parents, especially in Gaggenau-Bad Rotenfels, where the measures were taken very positively.
