Safe on the way: Police Osnabrück are fighting for children in road traffic!
Osnabrück, Deutschland - On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025, the Osnabrück police department starts the large -scale traffic safety campaign "Safe.mobil.leben - Kinder ALWAY". From the picturesque hills of the Teutoburg Forest to the beautiful East Frisian islands, police inspections will carry out targeted traffic controls. A special focus is on the safety of children. Andrea Menke, police vice president, emphasizes: "Children are not adults. They see risks differently!"
The action aims to not only punish traffic violations, but also to provide information. The police call on drivers to be particularly mindful. Because even small carelessness, such as a quick look at the cell phone, can have fatal consequences, especially in the vicinity of schools and kindergartens. In 2024 there were 834 traffic accidents with children in the region! The police fight tirelessly to reduce this alarming number and ask all road users to take responsibility.
