Safe way to school: Düren police start big traffic control!
The Düren police carried out a comprehensive traffic safety campaign on June 3, 2025 to increase the safety of children on road traffic. Over 3,700 vehicles were closely monitored at control points in Düren, Jülich and Kreuzau during their deployment. Speed measurement systems and police controls at schools and daycare centers focused on complying with parking bans, belt obligation and the correct use of retention facilities for children.
Numerous violations were found and punished, in which the warning and administrative offenses were used to persuade road users to comply with the regulations. These measures should not only reduce the number of accidents with children, but also sharpen the awareness of citizens for traffic safety so that the little ones can get to school and to the daycare safely.
