Safe way to school: Kindergarten children Erlangen zebra -Strip driver's license!

On the nationwide day of action "Safe.Mobil.leben - Kinder im Blick" on June 3rd, 2005, the focus was on the safety of children in road traffic. Police, schools, parents' initiatives and municipalities in the Diepholz district packed with full power: 25 police officers in action, four prevention actions and an impressive 330 vehicle controls caused more awareness.

A special highlight was found in the Weyhe-Laahausen kindergarten, where 35 preschool children acquired their "zebra-strip driver's license"! Under the warm guidance of the police, the little ones learned playfully to use zebra crossing and how important the eye contact with drivers. The children proudly presented their documents and experienced an exciting start to safe mobility. "Children do not learn through words, but by doing," emphasized the police chief commissioner Johanna Hoffmeister. A successful day for the future of our little ones!
