Security controls: Police demand more protection for children in traffic!

Konstanz, Deutschland - On June 3, 2025, the Constance police headquarters set up 52 checkpoints as part of the nationwide “Safe.Mobil.leben” campaign to check the safety of children in road traffic. 448 vehicles were checked, especially in front of schools and kindergartens. The results are alarming: 129 violations were found, including 34 children who either did not sit on child seats or were not properly buckled up.

In addition, 12 times false loads, 18 parking violations and several traffic offenses were registered. Two drivers were under the influence of alcohol, 30 used their cell phone at the wheel, and three exceeded the permissible top speed. The police urged parents to ensure the correct securing of their children in the car, since child seats and seat belts can save lives in an emergency. The control measures are crucial to increase traffic safety for everyone.
