Stralsund, Deutschland - The main customs office Stralsund presented its impressive annual balance for 2024. Under the direction of Kay Noffke, a record income of over 700 million euros was recorded. This alone comprises 397 million euros from energy taxes. The customs officers secured more than 2 million cigarettes, 76 kilograms of hashish, almost 7 kilograms of marijuana and a despised amount of illegal weapons - a total of 422 confiscations. The focus was also on 92,750 banned forbidden medicines, a dramatic increase compared to the previous year.

The control units carried out 66,230 checks, with 6,355 violations of customs and consumption tax regulations determined. The enforcement center of the main customs office processed 108,393 orders and was able to collect claims of 48.3 million euros. At the same time, 2,375 investigations were initiated in the area of ​​social security fraud, which led to almost 35 years of prison terms. Customs are thus an indispensable part of the security architecture and ensures fair competitive conditions in business.
