Fatal accident on A3: Transporter races at the end of traffic jams near Windhagen

on Tuesday evening, June 3, 2025, there was a tragic traffic accident on the A3 in the direction of Cologne, which cost a 55-year-old driver from Romania. The accident occurred around 10:26 p.m. when a traffic jam behind the Bad Honnef/Linz junction threatened due to a full closure. The driver obviously recognized the end of the congestion too late and unchecked with his van first on a car in front of him before colliding with the trailer of a truck.

The Autobahn 3 was completely closed for about four hours for the duration of the accident recording and insurance. The Koblenz public prosecutor has ordered an accident report to clarify the exact circumstances of the terrible incident.
