On Monday evening, a tragic traffic accident occurred in the Saale-Holzland district, between Oberbodnitz and Geisenhain. Around 6:30 p.m., a 55-year-old lost control of his vehicle in a right curve and raced head-on against a tree. The driver still succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.

The country road was closed for three hours for the duration of the accident, while the Saale-Holzland police started the investigation into the exact course of the accident.
