A 52-year-old woman had to experience a brazen trick theft on May 31, 2025 in Mainz-Drais. After purchasing in the supermarket, she was victim to her car in her car when loading her purchases. While it was distracted to an alleged pressure loss on the rear wheel of her vehicle by a stranger, an accomplice took the chance and grabbed the wallet with the EC card from the passenger seat.

The police describe the main suspect as male, about 160 cm tall with stocky stature and short dark hair. He spoke German with accent. The police urgently warn against leaving personal objects unattended in the car and advises increased vigilance in such situations.
