Traffic accidents in Central Hesse: Number is increasing, e-scooter in focus!
The traffic accident statistics for 2024 were presented in the police headquarters in Central Hesse, and the numbers are alarming! There were a total of 22,941 accidents - 381 more than in the previous year, which corresponds to an increase of less than two percent. On the streets of Central Hesse, 4,203 people, including an unfortunate child who lost his life. However, the number of slightly injuries remains high at 85.1 %, and the increase in e-scooter accidents is particularly concerned about 80 %!
As part of the “Crash Course” prevention program, young drivers were informed about the dangers in road traffic in the commercial schools of the Lahn-Dill district. Police President Torsten Krückemeier emphasized the importance of this Enlightenment in order to avoid tragic traffic accidents. The emotional reports of members of the "rescue chain" underlined the reality and the bitter consequences of carelessness and misconduct.
