Transport campaign children in view: police are increasingly against traffic risks
Schwelm, Deutschland - On June 3, 2025, the district police authority Ennepe-Ruhr carried out the nationwide traffic control campaign "Children in Blick". Between 07:30 and 2:30 p.m., numerous checks and prevention measures were carried out in cities such as Schwelm, Ennepetal, Breckerfeld and Weather. The police used various approaches, including the "Zitron/Smiley" campaign at a primary school in Sprockhövel and a distraction simulator at the weekly market in Hattingen.
The campaign brought some terrifying examples to light: a father was displayed because he brought his three unsecured children to school in the car. Another worrying incident occurred in Wetter, where a 28-year-old tried without a driver's license to drive his 7-year-old child to school on a small-rattle roller. The scooter was inadequate for the child, and the child had to walk on the way. A total of 132 road users were addressed as part of the campaign.
