Road safety for children: Freiburg's police starts big action!

As part of the nationwide traffic safety campaign "Safe.Mobil.leben", the "Children in Freiburg" campaign day and the surrounding counties were carried out on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The police headquarters Freiburg mobilized 30 emergency services to carry out targeted controls at 37 locations. A total of 184 vehicles were checked and 134 violations were found. A particularly striking driver, apparently the father of two children, was unreasonable and refused to change his dangerous traffic behavior.

In addition to the traffic controls, six prevention events were also held, which dealt with topics such as the dead corner and the security of escoters. The aim of the campaign is to improve traffic safety for children and adolescents and to raise awareness of potential dangers in road traffic. The police rely on intensive information and sensitization of all road users in order to sustainably reduce the number of accidents with young participants.
