Road safety in focus: Police Oldenburg fights for children!
Oldenburg, Deutschland - On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the Oldenburg police department took part in the nationwide traffic safety campaign "Safe.Mobil.leben - Kinder Auflich". In cooperation with schools, daycare centers and traffic watchdogs, targeted traffic controls were carried out throughout the district in order to ensure the safety of children in road traffic. The focus was on particularly endangered traffic areas such as school routes and holding zones.
A total of around 1100 vehicles were checked, with around 260 traffic violations found. However, the main intention of the campaign was not only the punishment, but the long -term sensitization of all road users for safety aspects in road traffic. In 2024, over 1000 traffic accidents with children were registered in the area of responsibility of the Oldenburg police department, which underlines the urgency of such measures. The police are therefore planning to continue to carry out controls and prevention measures in the future in order to reduce the number of accidents.
