Traffic accident in Ludwigshafen: Motorists crashed into tram!

On Wednesday morning, a spectacular accident between a car and a tram occurred at 10:15 a.m. at the Saarlandstrasse/Pestalozzistraße. A 37-year-old driver drove to the left in an contrary to prohibition and collided with the tram, which drove next to him at the same height. The impact left the two occupants of the car, a 33-year-old woman and the driver himself, slightly injured, and they were immediately taken to the hospital.

The tram remained unaffected by injuries, but the damaged car had to be towed. The subsequent standstill of tram traffic in Saarlandstrasse caused disorders in local public transport. The property damage incurred is estimated at around 15,000 euros.
