Fewer defects: Police increase controls for safe motorcycle tours

Laupheim, Deutschland - At the Ascension of Christ, the police carried out extensive traffic controls in Laupheim, whereby the focus was on motorcycles. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., five motorcycles, three cars and two trucks were checked. The balance sheet was gratifying: only two motorcycles showed complaints, compared to 18 the day before. However, a driver of a Harley-Davidson was held responsible because he had exchanged parts such as air filters and exhaust system without permission. The police handed over a defect report to him and announced that he would now have to expect a fine of at least 90 euros.

The police emphasize the need for further controls to increase traffic safety. In particular, excessive speed remains one of the main causes for accidents that often have tragic consequences. The officers advise all road users to drive more carefully and not to overestimate their skills. Citizens can visit the website of the Baden-Württemberg State Statistical Statistical Office for more information about the dangers of rapid driving.
