Cigarette machine on used, perpetrator fleeting - police are looking for witnesses!

In the night of Friday, May 30, 2025, residents on Gelderner Strasse were awakened by loud noises. At around 02:45 a.m., an attentive resident alerted the police after hearing noises from a cigarette machine. Investigations on site revealed that strangers had tried to open the machine - but without success. Around 5:00 a.m., the witness saw a suspicious man near the machine, who is described with a brown denim jacket, a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The police officers immediately called up found the machine open and found that cigarette boxes and the cash had been stolen. The perpetrator fled towards Gartenstrasse. The police are now looking for witnesses or information on the identity of the suspect and asks to contact the Kripo Geldern at 02831 1250.
