Customs investigators raise the alarm: 24,000 euros amplifier without registration!

A 40-year-old man tried to smuggle four high-quality sound amplifiers worth around 24,000 euros without registration. During a routine check at the Constance Autobahn customs office, the customs officers discovered the amplifiers in the trunk of his vehicle. For the attempt to introduce these goods illegally, import levies of around 4,600 euros are due.

Sonja Müller, singing press spokeswoman for the main customs office, explains that the reinforced process of passive refinement can be used in the reintroduction of repaired goods from Switzerland in order to reduce the customs load. This means that the value of the previously executed goods is taken into account in the payment. Further information on customs applications and finishing procedures can be found on the customs website.
