Aalen illuminates new: 2000 LED lamps for more security and savings!

Aalen, Deutschland - The city of Aalen takes great steps towards an energy-efficient future by increasingly switching its street lighting to LED technology. This year, 2000 new LED lamps are to be installed. The conversion takes place in several districts, including Dewangen, Fachsenfeld, Ebnat, Hofen, Hofen and part of the core city, and will be completed by the end of August 2025. Diese Maßnahme ist Teil eines umfassenden Plans, die gesamte Straßenbeleuchtung bis 2027 auf LED-Technik umzustellen, berichtet Schwäbische Post .

Since the beginning of the conversion project, 40 percent of the approximately 13,000 lights in the urban area have been switched to the environmentally friendly LED lamps. Elektro Jerg from Aalen takes over the modernization that brings significant savings. With the new lamps, a saving of around 430,000 kWh of electricity is expected per year. The costs of the conversion amount to around 750,000 euros, of which 25 percent are funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection.

energy efficiency and environmental friendliness

The advantages of the new LED street lighting are diverse. LED lights not only save up to 70 percent of electricity, but are also more insect-friendly than conventional lighting agents due to their nature. This was supported by various initiatives to reduce energy requirements and CO2 emissions, as well as through the funding program of the national climate protection initiative, from which the city of Aalen has already received funds to modernize its street lighting. In 2020, 405 mast places with mercury steam high-pressure lamps were replaced by modern LED lights that offer significantly improved light quality and service life.

In addition, Aalen has benefited from the advantages of LED technology, which not only reduces 80 % energy consumption, but also enables annual savings of 145,325 kWh of electricity and 1,715 tons of CO2 over 20 years. These sustainable projects are funded by the Federal Environment Ministry and contribute to the long -term reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

improved security and quality of life

Another important aspect of the new LED lighting is increased security in public space. LED street lanterns offer more even illumination and higher brightness, which increases visibility for pedestrians and drivers. These improvements contribute to reducing traffic accidents and increase safety on roads, sidewalks and intersections. A well -lit environment can also help prevent crime, since dark areas that could be exploited by criminals are illuminated.

Modern LED lights of the ECO series are also equipped with movement sensors that enable automatic brightness adjustment. This not only improves the perception of the situation, but also increases the feeling of security of residents and visitors, such as Aceled determined.

Due to the gradual conversion to LED technology, Aalen positions itself as a pioneer in terms of environmentally friendly and safe urban infrastructure and thus sets another sign of sustainability and modern urban development.
