Just in Pentecost: traffic jam alarm on Baden-Württemberg's highways!

With the beginning of the Pentecost holidays in Baden-Württemberg At the weekend there is a strong increase in traffic in road traffic. The SWR is particularly known, whereby Friday, June 6th, is the most busy day. Cars from all over the region set off, including many who travel to the adjacent federal states of Bavaria, where there is also a holiday start.

Holidays are traditional, and the ADAC expects a chaotic transport picture. Traffic will be very dense in particular in the metropolitan areas, on routes to the Alps and coasts as well as on local recreation areas. Travelers are primarily on destinations in the Alps, to the Mediterranean and the North and Baltic Sea coasts.

stammered routes and weather conditions

The SWR mentions the A8 between Karlsruhe and Ulm as particularly stammering, which is partly due to a continued construction site near Pforzheim. Other endangered motorways are the A5 Karlsruhe - Basel, A6 Mannheim - Heilbronn - Nuremberg, A7 Würzburg - Ulm - Füssen, A8 Karlsruhe - Stuttgart - Munich and the A81 Heilbronn - Stuttgart - Sing.

The weather also contributes to the traffic situation. Temperatures of up to 25 degrees and an unstable weather conditions are announced for Saturday. Cooler temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees are expected on Sunday, while warmer weather and more sunshine are forecast for Whit Monday. This could lead to more people pushing on the streets to enjoy the sun's rays.

fuel prices and international traffic situations

A positive aspect for travelers is the development of fuel prices that reached the lowest of the year in May: E10 cost an average of 1.68 euros per liter, diesel 1.58 euros. However, it is generally to be expected that the prices will increase at the start of the holiday. Drivers who travel abroad have the opportunity to save in countries such as Austria and Poland, where the gasoline prices are 22 cents cheaper than in Germany.

The traffic situation is not only tense in Germany. Rushes are also expected in neighboring countries, especially in Austria and Switzerland. The ADAC predicts a high stammering risk on important routes such as the burner highway and the Tauernautobahn in Austria. Rolls of entry at the German borders, which have been carried out on a random basis since the beginning of May, could cause additional waiting times.

Overall, drivers on the streets around the Pentecost weekend have to expect considerable traffic disruptions. City is particularly expected at peak times on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and on Whit Monday. Especially when returning on Tuesday, strong traffic is expected, while the Pentecost Sunday is the best day of travel.
