In a dramatic incident in the early Thursday morning, two wild boars ensured a full closure of the A5 between Achern and Appenweier. Shortly after 4 a.m., several road users reported a collision with one of the animals. The traffic police found a total of seven damaged vehicles on site, including a fully occupied coach.

Due to extensive cleaning and recovery work, the highway remained closed until around 7 a.m. The damage to the vehicles is expected to be a six -figure amount. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
