Drama in the tunnel: rear -end collision near Gruibingen - 5 injured and 70,000 euros damage!

On Saturday afternoon, a dramatic rear -end collision occurred in the Gruibingen tunnel, in which several people were injured and considerable damage to property was caused. A 26-year-old Ford driver noticed the stagnant traffic in front of him too late and raced into a VW, which led to a chaotic meeting of a total of five vehicles. The total damage is estimated at around 70,000 euros, two cars were no longer ready to drive after the collision and had to be towed.

In the vehicles concerned, there were 16 people, five of whom were brought to surrounding hospitals with minor injuries. Due to expired operating materials and the rescue of the vehicles, the motorway 8 was completely blocked for 90 minutes. The traffic temporarily builds up to around 8 kilometers to the Aichelberg junction.
