On Friday, May 30, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred between an e-scooter and a motorcycle at 6:15 p.m. on the L438 near Balgheim. A 15-year-old e-scooter driver who came from a dirt road noticed the approaching 44-year-old motorcyclist from Dürbheim too late, which led to a dramatic collision. The young person suffered life -threatening injuries and had to be flown to a hospital with a rescue helicopter. The motorcyclist only suffered minor injuries.

The police have consulted an expert to clarify the exact course of the accident. The L438 was closed during the accident and a local diversion was set up.
