On Friday evening, May 30, 2025, there was a spectacular accident on the A5 motorway: a 67-year-old tractor lost control and crashed into the middle protection plank with full force. At least eleven elements of the protection plank were badly damaged, and the truck shot from the road, 18 guiding posts - a picture of the chaos!

The driver who was traveling from Basel towards Freiburg could finally be stopped in a parking lot at the Hartheim / Heitersheim junction. The property damage to the truck is estimated at around 10,000 euros, while the total damage to the traffic sign and the protection plank cannot yet be quantified. The traffic police Weil am Rhein is urgently looking for witnesses who have observed the accident or felt in danger through the driver's driving style.
