Weil am Rhein, Deutschland - The Federal Police Inspection Weil am Rhein has had a new director: Police Director Tobias Lehmann since June 1, 2025. The 47-year-old took over the responsibility of his predecessor Kai Brandenburg, who has had the inspection since 2010. Lehmann brings extensive experience after he entered the Federal Border Guard in 1997 and has a significant contribution to the construction of the German-Swiss liaison office in Basel.
In his first speech, Lehmann emphasized the importance of cross -border cooperation in the border triangle between Germany, Switzerland and France. He announced that he is looking for the dialogue with the local partners in order to master the current security policy challenges together.
