A 19-year-old man has been in custody since Friday because he is said to have violently stolen the handbags of two women in Pforzheim on Tuesday. At around 5 a.m., the two women ran on Pfälzerstrasse when the perpetrator surprisingly attacked them from behind. At first he knocked down one of the women, snatched her bag and pushed the second woman aside so that she too lost her handbag.

The police were quickly on site and was able to arrest the suspect who hid near a construction site. After being released, an arrest warrant was obtained due to the brutally used violence against women. Both injured were slightly injured; A woman had to go to the hospital for provision, but could be released later. The perpetrator, an Iraqi national, is now being put on trial for robbery and assault.
