In the early Sunday morning, June 8, 2025, a car lying on the roof was discovered near Kerpen on Kreisstraße 53 in Manheim-Alt. Drivers who saw the vehicle immediately alerted the police. When examining the vehicle, the emergency services found no occupants, but they discovered fresh traces of blood that indicated that possibly injured inmates were thrown out of the vehicle.
