Construction work in the region: Timetable changes for Mex19, Mex90 and Re90!
From June 15, 2025,in the region will be on extensive timetable changes for a week, which in particular affect the MEX19, MEX90 and RE90 lines. As ZVW , these changes are due to construction work between Bad Cannstatt and Backnang and between Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Hall necessary. During this period, the MEX19 will only run between Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof and Backnang, as the stop in Bad Cannstatt is largely eliminated.
Numerous holding for the Mex90 is also eliminated, but there is no detailed information about the affected stops. Travelers should prepare to plan alternative routes and plan more time to consider possible delays.
Construction work on the U7
light rail lineIn addition to the changes to the regional and S-Bahn connections, the U7 light rail line will also be affected. From June 7th to 15th, 2025, the U7 will be adapted due to track construction work between Ostfildern Nellingen and Suttnerstraße, as vvs . During this period, the U7 ends at the Suttnerstrasse stop, and the section to Mönchfeld is no longer served.
For this line, replacement traffic with buses on the U7E line was set up. These buses run between Himmelleiter and Mönchfeld and offer an important connection during the construction work. The Freiberg and Mönchfeld stops are not approached. The travelers should also note that the railways of the U7 line from Nellingen Ostfildern run regularly, with special features to be observed during the main traffic times when entering and exit at the Suttnerstrasse stop.
Important information for passengers
passengers who want to travel from Suttnerstrasse to Himmelleiter must make sure that the lanes can drive up to six minutes earlier than usual. During the scheduled service times at the Himmelleiter stop, the trains also continue to Nellingen Ostfildern at regular departure times.
The current changes also offer reason to check the traffic comprehensively and, if necessary, adapt the current changes. For this reason, it is recommended to obtain current information on the timetables, especially in the period affected. The corresponding adjustments can also be read on websites such as VGN , where information about cookies and their use are also provided.
