Parents in Lochhausen urge urgently needed school places!
Parents in Lochhausen urge urgently needed school places!
Around 200 families from Lochhausen are alerted about the current situation at the primary school on Schubinweg 3. The school reaches its capacity limits, which leads to a partly improvised physical education in the classrooms. Over 40 children currently have no space for afternoon care. This problem drives the parents, especially since the primary school already houses 17 classes and continues to grow population in the region. According to a forecast, the 22nd district will grow by 92.9 percent by 2040, which further increases the pressure on the existing educational institutions.
The parents have developed an extensive solution concept and sent the district committee and the citizens' meeting for Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied. Sebastian Kriesel, the head of the district committee, confirmed that the problem is generally known, and noticed that there is a lack of space not only in schools, but also in daycare centers and at midday care. A round table with representatives of the city was challenged in April to discuss the situation. Denissa Neumann, one of the parents involved, calls for specific steps to improve the social infrastructure in the district.
plans to improve the infrastructure
The parents' suggestions include an expansion of the gym and the creation of multifunctional specialist rooms. Furthermore, an application for the drawing up of containers will be sought as an interim solution from the school year 2025/26. These measures are intended to help reduce the current overload and to meet the needs of the children. A single all -day class is currently being offered, while the need for afternoon care places is around 300, but only 220 places are available.
The citizens' association Lochhausen-Langwied made aware of the inadequate infrastructure eight years ago and called for a new triple gymnasium and multi-purpose hall as well as a second primary school. The district, which is often perceived as village, is increasingly developing urban. The population in Lochhausen and Langwied will almost double in the next ten years and could reach almost 13,000 people. These numerous new buildings and the associated immigration present the existing infrastructure with considerable challenges.
The urban perspective
The city of Munich has been in a growth phase for around 25 years, the effects of which also affect Lochhausen. The forecasts show that the city is still becoming more attractive, especially among young people who move to Munich due to the high quality of life and the offer. The educational department initially sees the capacities of the primary school as sufficient, but refers to a structural concept that is intended to remedy the long term in order to cover the increasing need through a new school location.
Despite these plans, there is still an urgent need for a faster implementation of measures to improve the educational situation on site. Critics warn that the quality of life in this district could also suffer without the appropriate infrastructure. The joint effort of citizens, parents and the city committees will now be crucial to preserve Lochhausen as a district worth living and to be prepared for future challenges.Details | |
