Border controls: Drunk poles arrested - Iraqis has to leave Germany!
In the early morning of May 24, 2025, the Federal Police on Autobahn 61 in Breyell checked a 36-year-old Poland who was sought with an arrest warrant due to drunk traffic. Since he could not pay the due fine of 1500 euros, he was brought to the prison in Willich to start a 30-day sentence.
On the same day, a 38-year-old Iraqi presented his valid passport at Autobahn 3 at Knauheide rest area and an expired Czech residence permit. He also found what he was looking for in the police databases: there was an arrest warrant against him due to unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident. After payment of 1600 euros, he was able to escape temporarily, but received a certificate of crossing and must leave Germany within seven days.
