Bavaria receives 14 billion: historical opportunity for schools and daycare centers!

In the coming years,

Bayern will benefit from an additional financial package that will be provided as part of a nationwide infrastructure program. A total of around 14 billion euros should be available over a period of ten years. The Landtag parliamentary group leader of the Greens, Katharina Schulze, describes this investment as a "historical investment opportunity". The focus is primarily on schools, daycare centers and affordable living space as well as the renovation of public institutions.

The planned funds flow 5.5 billion euros into the modernization and expansion of daycare centers, schools and inter -company training centers. Schulze is particularly important that these funds are used exclusively for infrastructure projects and not for party -tactically motivated projects. In addition, 500 million euros are planned for the renovation of swimming pools, of which over half of which are considered in need of renovation in Bavaria.

sustainable infrastructure development

Another central point is the adaptation of the school buildings to the consequences of climate change. Planned measures include green roofs, shadow spaces and the installation of photovoltaic systems. The focus is also on housing construction: around three billion euros are to be invested in affordable and ecological housing, which could enable the creation of 16,000 to 17,000 subsidized apartments.

In addition, two billion euros are planned for climate -adapted urban planning. Here, cool, green places and drinking fountains are to be created in order to make the urban space sustainable. Investments are also made in the traffic sector: three billion euros flow into rail, bridges and e-charging infrastructure, whereby the reactivation and electrification of rail routes are also the focus.

nationwide investments for the future

nationwide, the German state plans to invest around 600 billion euros in the infrastructure by the mid -2030s. An additional 60 billion euros are to be provided over the next ten years. These investments are aimed at dissolving the investment backlog in the municipalities and making progress in the areas of education infrastructure, energy and transport networks as well as in decarbonization. The urgent need for these investments has risen from the multiple crises since 2020.

A report by the Hans Böckler Foundation identifies important investment needs that are estimated at 460 billion euros; This includes 177 billion euros for municipal infrastructure, 200 billion euros for climate protection and 42 billion euros for educational infrastructure. In order to mobilize these financial resources, suggestions for financing are discussed by loans and reforming the debt brake.

The design of the exact financing is considered less important, but the timely implementation of the planned investments is crucial. The ongoing operating costs must also be taken into account in annual financial planning. These comprehensive investment efforts should help to ensure the future viability of the German infrastructure, business and society and to actively master the challenges of climate change.
