Art connects: New project in the factory district brings people together

Atelierstraße 4, 81671 München, Deutschland - In the Munich factory district, the art project "Working in Projects" has set standards to bring people together through creative activity. Under the direction of managing director Anna Conti, the project aims to build bridges between different cultures. At the recent meeting of the Berg am Laim district committee, Conti presented her work and received a grant for the event "The Third Paradise", which is scheduled to take place in autumn. Conti, who in July 2024 for their commitment with the "Munich thanks!" Prize has been awarded for half a year to live in two containers that serve as creative rooms.

In the art container at Atelierstraße 4, weekly offers such as workshops, readings and festivals take place. Since October 2024, 750 people have already participated in these events. An event is also held every month in the "chipboard"; The last one devoted itself to the topic of a job search and offered support in the curriculum vitae and applications. Conti, who moved to Munich 15 years ago and previously worked as an event manager in Italy, was particularly committed to helping for refugee people - especially those from Ukraine.

integration through art and encounter

The first offers from Conti were aimed specifically at mothers with children who came to Germany without language skills. The aim was to create a connection even without words. A special initiative is the planned cooperation with the neighboring elementary school on Haager Strasse and the establishment of a family center in the factory district in order to be able to reach even more people. The offers in the art container are completely free of charge, information on this is available on the website www.workinginProJects.eu Available.

At the same time, the “Encounter Rooms” project shows, which has been running since 2016, how cultural education promotes the integration of refugee children and adolescents. This project, which was launched by the youth art school Arte Fact, offers young people in Bonn-Duisdorf a constant point of contact with a focus on creative encounters. It includes cultural education offers in international classes and promotes the artistic expression of the participants. Dorothee Irnich-Eßer is the contact person for the project, which is further developed in a participatory manner to include all votes.

art as a connecting element

Another approach to cultural reconciliation is funded by the Maltese initiative "Art connects cultures". Sinan Yaman emphasizes that art acts as a value -free space in which every kind of artistic expression is welcome. Whether abstract painting, digital art or performances - any technology can be a platform to share experiences that could otherwise remain hidden. This hiking exhibition has already stopped in cities such as Hamburg, Cologne and Leipzig and actively promotes intercultural exchange.

whether in Munich or Bonn, the art projects not only offer support in the integration of refugees, but also create a space for encounters and the exchange of different cultures. Art becomes an important tool to address social challenges and strengthen communities.
