Inmaid flees from Traunstein: Police starts big search!
A prisoner fled the hospital in Traunstein. The 35-year-old man, who was in custody for theft offenses, apparently took the opportunity during a visit to the doctor to flee. The police then initiated an extensive search, which is supported by several stripes and a police helicopter. According to PNP , the sought-after prison is described as 184 centimeters and wears a white t-shirt and a pants with a cut pant leg.
The police emphasized that there is currently no specific danger to the population. Therefore, the population is asked not to address suspicious persons, do not take hitchhikers with them and to immediately inform the police about the emergency call in the event of suspicion. The Merkur also reinforces this.
search and security situation
The large -scale search is supported by numerous police patrols that intensively search the area. The incident raises questions about the security situation and outbreak security in correctional facilities, especially with regard to the increasing frequency of theft offenses. According to the police crime statistics climbed in 2023 10.7 % to a total of 1,971,435 cases, which represents a level above that of 2019. This reflects a general increase in crime in Germany, which has seemed to increase since the covid 19 restrictions.
The increasing crime rate raises the question of how to deal with prisoners who are brought to hospitals for treatment. The statistics show that in 2023 the crimes recorded increased by 5.5 % and that violent crime has been reached in the area of violent crime since 2007. This emphasizes the need for preventive measures to avoid escape cases and other crimes.
