In a nightly incident on May 29, 2025 around 1:34 a.m., a citizen alerted the police in Unstrut-Hainich after a car in the ditch was spotted on the B249 near Schlotheim. The officials found two men in the vehicle; They stated that they had used an agricultural path for a turning maneuver, which caused them to get off the street.

During the check, it turned out that the license plates of the Peugeot had not only expired, but also did not belong to the vehicle. In addition, the two men had no valid driving license and were considerably under the influence of alcohol.
