Police intensified search for missing woman from Noer - where is she?

The police in Schleswig-Holstein searched for a missing 43-year-old woman from Noer in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district with great effort. On May 27, 2025, around 100 emergency services and several service dogs were mobilized to continue the search in the wooden fields and around the West Lake. These measures are a direct consequence of the suspicion of a violent crime, which was confirmed during the question of the spouse of the missing person. The woman was last seen on March 21st and her husband reported her as missing.

After several searches in the past few weeks, including one on May 21, the current search was canceled due to the onset of darkness without the woman being found. The team used various methods for the search campaigns, including sonar boats, drones as well as divers and detection dogs to find possible traces. In the past, the police received information that led to the assumption that there could be a violent crime.

Investigations and suspicions

The investigation has intensified in the past few weeks. The suspect husband was temporarily arrested at the end of March 2025, but released again on the same day because no body was found. The case took a new turn when he was made public in April 2025 on the ZDF program "File number XY unresolved" nationwide. This measure is intended to contribute to moving possible witnesses to report relevant information.

In view of the current situation, the case also creates a context of violent crime in Germany. According to Statista, violent crimes accounted for less than 4% of all police crimes in 2024, but they have a strong influence on the feeling of security of the population. This type of crime includes serious offenses such as murder and serious bodily harm, which have risen sharply since 2021. The police were able to clarify violent acts in a good three quarters of cases.

public concern and security

The continued investigation and the intensive search for the missing woman also make a skill light on the general public concern with regard to increasing violent crime in Germany. In 2024, the police registered around 217,000 violent crimes, a worrying trend that could be further tightened by economic uncertainties and social stress. A survey showed that 94% of German violence and aggression against civil servants perceive as a significant problem.

The police will continue to endeavor to clarify the case of the missing woman and create a safe environment. If you have further information, you will ask the public for helping to possibly get new perspectives or information.

The traceability and extensive sensitization are more important than ever to ensure security in our communities.
