HTW Berlin starts innovation center for digital teaching!
In a remarkable initiative, six universities have merged to make digital teaching in Germany decisively advance. On October 1, 2025, the "German Center for Digital Tasks" (DZDA), a project that is funded by the Innovation Foundation in University Teaching with around 12 million euros. As IDW-Online is the management of this lighthouse project at the Eastern Bavarian Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (Oth Amberg-Weiden).
The HTW Berlin, as an active partner in this project, receives around 1.27 million euros for your sub -project "Repository Center". An interdisciplinary team will develop a comprehensive data library for exercise and examination tasks. The aim is to create a user -friendly frontend and an efficient backend to manage these tasks. With a practical plugin, teachers should be able to easily integrate their materials into platforms such as Moodle or Ilias.
The goals and priorities of the project
The extremely important goal of the DZDA is to build a sustainable infrastructure for digital exercise and examination tasks in the so-called Wimint subjects- economy, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. In addition, the HTW Berlin will contribute to the establishment of "blended curricula" to create innovative didactic concepts and reliable framework conditions for teaching, as well as the Hochschullehre emphasized
In the long term, the transfer of knowledge within the universities should be promoted. In the curriculum Innovation Hub, future -oriented priorities are then set such as electronic tests and individual learning methods. The composite project comprises over 170 partners from various universities, didactics centers and organizations. HAW Hamburg leads the student center, while the TH Würzburg-Schweinfurt takes over the transfer center. Other institutions such as the Bochum University of Bundeswehr and the University of the Bundeswehr Munich bring in their expertise to further optimize digital teaching and knowledge transfer.
The experiences that HTW Berlin gained during Corona pandemic are largely included in the further development of the study programs. Interfaces between specialist areas and organizational units are created in order to offer a comprehensive common courses.
This project is a significant step into the future of university teaching in Germany, and it remains exciting how the developments will be shaped in the coming years.
