The weekend from July 4th to 6th, 2025 promises a colorful program in the Barnim region. The focus is on the 28th Finowfurt Rafting Festival, which has been celebrated since 1996 in the charming Finowfurt district of the municipality of Schorfheide. The event has developed into an absolute highlight and attracts thousands of guests every year. The rafting festival offers a mixture of music, raft trips and a varied children's program, paired with culinary offerings and fair stalls. The festival opens on Friday, July 4th at 8 p.m. on Erzberger Platz. The first highlight is the dance and disco evening, for which advance ticket sales are already underway. Tickets cost ten euros and are available at the municipal office and at the box office until July 1st.

Tips for families and children

The weekend offers many other events that are particularly aimed at families with children. On Saturday, July 5th, the little guests can look forward to a theater performance at the weekly market in Bernau. At 10:30 a.m. the Zuckertraumtheater shows a lively underwater comedy that can be attended free of charge. During the day, the Barnim Music School's summer festival will also take place, with taster lessons and various performances. Things really get lively from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the children's festival on the market square in Bernau. Here the kids can expect an exciting program with bouncy castles, creative stations and a clown show. The open day at the Ladeburg animal shelter will also take place on this day. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., animal lovers can look forward to visitable sanctuaries and the flea market, of course with entertainment for the youngest.

Evening outdoor entertainment

On Saturday evening, July 5th, the Wandlitzsee will be transformed into an open-air cinema. With a film starting at 9 p.m., the charming story of “The Fabulous World of Amélie” can be enjoyed under the stars. Check-in begins at 8 p.m. and it is recommended that you bring your own blankets. There will be even more good entertainment during the music festival in Hobrechtsfelde on Sunday, July 6th from 5 p.m., where there will be works for clarinet, cello and piano—admission is free, although donations are requested will.moz.de

There is good news for everyone who wants to travel by public transport: the Barnim bus company is providing additional buses between Eberswalde and Finowfurt. The buses run every hour on Fridays until 1:50 a.m. and offer an ideal way to enjoy the event stress-free.
