A disturbing incident occurred in Berlin-Marzahn on the night of August 13, 2025, which included a violent argument involving a blank gun and a knife. Loud Moz.de It all started around 11:40 p.m. in a snack bar on Märkische Allee when a 29-year-old guest got into a verbal argument with an 18-year-old employee. The situation escalated rapidly.

The 29-year-old leaves the snack bar and returns a little later wearing a mask, now with a blank gun in his hand. He opened fire on the employee and then left the store while continuing to fire shots in the direction of the 18-year-old. He courageously grabbed a sharpening steel to defend himself and injured the 29-year-old in the head. But the scuffle resulted in the employee suffering a knife injury to his left hand.

Police and rescue workers on duty

The police were immediately alerted and arrived with a large contingent. The investigators secured evidence, including cartridge cases, and interviewed witnesses. However, the 29-year-old attacker was uncooperative and fled after the incident. Thanks to the emergency services' quick reactions, he was briefly arrested at a nearby bus stop.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital after the arrest, where he was transferred to the psychiatric ward for further treatment. The 18-year-old received help for his hand injury at the scene.

Mental health and violence

The incidents of violence linked to mental illness raise questions not only about the security situation, but also about the need for preventive measures. The DGPPN recommends expanding existing supply structures in order to avoid such situations in the future.
