MBS donates almost 59,000 euros to local associations – a strong commitment!

There is reason to be happy in the city of Brandenburg: The Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse (MBS) recently handed over almost 59,000 euros to 20 different clubs at a celebratory do-good breakfast in the popular “Herzschlag” restaurant. A step that is not only intended to strengthen local volunteer work, but is also seen as a sign of MBS's long-standing commitment to the region. Andreas Schulz, CEO of MBS, pointed out the central role of social commitment and emphasized the support of projects in sports, culture, education and environmental protection. Together they want to make society a little better.

The total amount that MBS has given out to non-profit organizations in recent years is impressive: in 2024 alone, 4.3 million euros went to various initiatives. In addition to the direct donations, there is also a profit distribution of 8 million euros for charitable purposes. These figures show that MBS is one of the largest non-state sponsors in Brandenburg. According to current reports, a total of 202,000 euros flowed into the city of Brandenburg for donations and sponsorship last year.

Diverse projects benefit

The supported projects are as colorful as the city itself. The supported associations in the first half of 2025 include, for example, Lauschkultur e. V., which receives support for the 17th Brandenburg radio play weekend, and the animal protection association, which receives money for its project “Summer can come – sun roof for the dogs”. The ALBA BERLIN basketball team is also among those supported, as are several local sports clubs and cultural initiatives.

  • Lauschkultur e. V. – 17. Brandenburger Hörspielwochenende
  • Tierschutzverein Brandenburg e.V. – „Sonnendach für die Hunde“
  • ALBA BERLIN Basketballteam e. V. – „MBS & ALBA – Ganz Großer Sport in Brandenburg BRB“
  • Polizeisportgemeinschaft “Dynamo” Brandenburg-Mitte e. V. – Brandenburger-Roland Medaillen
  • VfL Brandenburg e.V. – nachhaltige Ausstattung
  • SV Wasserfreunde Brandenburg e.V. – Wettkampfequipment
  • … und viele mehr!

These diverse commitments show once again that MBS is not just a financial service provider, but also actively contributes to the social well-being of the community. Over 130 locations in the region advise around 750,000 customers, and their influence on local life is undeniable. MBS is not just a bank, but rather a partner that wants to move the region forward with its initiatives.
